ABOUT US

Who we are, why we built this, and how we work.

ObraXRAY is an independent Portuguese tool for checking construction companies before any hire.

MISSION

End contractor blind hiring in Portuguese construction.

We did the work that the sources don't do: cross-reference CITIUS with Ministry of Justice publications with IMPIC with the Tax Authority with 197 civil courts, build the director-to-company index that exists nowhere, accumulate the history the portals don't preserve, and synthesise everything into an actionable current state. The source data is public. The cross-referencing, accumulation, and synthesis are what we built.

VISION

Be the automatic reflex before any hire.

We want to reach the point where people say, without thinking: "Before I even consider hiring, I run the check on ObraXRAY." Like reading reviews before buying online, or checking the IBAN before transferring money. A trivial step, but one that changes everything.

WHY WE BUILT THIS

Years of hearing the same stories.

ObraXRAY wasn't born from a single scandal - it was born from years of hearing the same stories. Family members stuck with renovations that took three times longer than promised. People we knew with new homes delayed over a year because the contractor simply didn't show up. Neighbours who paid deposits and never got a response.

None of this is rare. Months of delays, budgets that double without warning, work abandoned halfway through. And in the worst case, the contractor declares insolvency and takes the money with them, just like it happened to 114 families in Palmela.

The most frustrating part? The information to avoid many of these problems already existed. Lawsuits, insolvencies, government debts, all recorded in public official sources. But scattered, hard to access, and practically invisible to anyone hiring for a construction project.

We decided to do the work. ObraXRAY cross-references 9 official Portuguese sources, builds the director-to-company index that exists nowhere, accumulates history the portals don't preserve, and synthesises chronological events into current state. The source data is public - the cross-referencing, accumulation, and synthesis are what we built. The decision always stays with the person hiring.

HOW WE WORK

Concrete commitments, not slogans.

Four principles we hold with the people who use ObraXRAY, even when they cost us money.

Only official Portuguese sources.

CITIUS, IMPIC, Courts, Tax Authority, Social Security, Ministry of Justice. Every check cites exactly where we got the information from. If it's not public and official, it doesn't make it into the report.

If a source fails, we say so.

When an official source is down or we couldn't validate something, we show that clearly in the report. We don't fill in with guesses, we don't hand over partial reports as if they were complete.

We don't recommend companies.

We show the facts. The decision is yours. We don't sell leads to contractors, we have no partnerships with verified companies, we have no interest in you choosing A over B.

Your data is not for sale.

We don't sell your search history, we don't pass contacts to companies, we don't use your data for targeted advertising. What you search is yours.
